Pex-B Pipes
Austec’s Pex-B pipes are for general water usage. This economical piping system is our most popular system for water, it is constructed from a Pex-B material bonded to a coloured outer layer.
The pipes are available in sizes 16mm, 20mm and 25mm. This economical system is also lightweight and uses a similar number of fittings as Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex alongside the same easy installation method.
Austec’s Pex-B pipes are available for:
- Water (black – UV rated)
- Hot water (red)
- Rainwater (green)
- Recycled water (lilac)
- Cold water (blue with corrugated sleeve)
- Hot water (red with corrugated sleeve)
Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex Pipes
Austec’s Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes are for general water usage as well as for low pressure gas usage. It has a five layered construction comprising of a cross-linked polyethylene (Pex), bonded to an butt welded aluminium layer, and again bonded to another cross-linked polyethylene (Pex) layer. This multilayering safeguards the pipe against oxygen penetration and even against any expansions cause by temperature changes.
This structure of the Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes delivers strength, yet is easily bendable by hand, and significantly lower in cost compared to conventional copper systems.
Austec’s Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes are available for:
- Cold water (blue)
- Hot water (red)
- Rainwater (green)
- Recycled water (lilac)
- Gas (yellow)
- Gas (yellow with corrugated sleeve)
The Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes for water are available in 16mm, 20mm and 25mm. The Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes for gas are available 16mm, 20mm, 25mm and 32mm.
Fittings
Austec’s fittings are patented, have no O-rings and can be used for both water and gas applications on both our Pex-B and Multilayer Pex/Al/Pex pipes.
The fittings are made from DR brass and have stainless steel sleeves. These sleeves do not come loose from the fitting and do not get deformed if dropped. The fittings have a noticeable crimping surface and a large internal diameter for maximum flow.
